Momentary push button (starter button)

Personality Description
This personality executes a push ON/OFF type of starter button, similar to the start button you would find in a luxury automobile. A node pair is established in the command that defines two outputs on the target POWERCELL™ Control Unit that will be used to manage these functions. In execution, the system evaluates various possible states of the output nodes to manage the sequencing of the starter motor and ignition power. A single input node on the MASTERCELL™ Input Unit (always input 39) is attached to a momentary, usually push-button, switch.

Operational Sequence
1.  First push—the ignition turns ON, and the starter turns on. Cranking begins 100ms after ignition is engaged.
    a. Release
2. Second push—engages the starter. When the switch is released and the car has started, the starter disengages.
    a. Release
3. Third push—the ignition turns OFF
    a. Release

NOTE: A key-lock or “hidden” switch should be wired in series to provide additional vehicle security. Some manufactures make special push button key-lock switches that can be used in this application. Always define output nodes three and four on the POWERCELL™ control unit cell address #1.
